Short version: we collect what the product needs to run, we never sell it, and your business data stays yours. Here is the long version.

Who we are
POSFORRETAIL (“we”, “us”) provides a point-of-sale and business management platform for retail stores, restaurants, and pharmacies. The marketing site lives at posforretail.com; the product runs at app.posforretail.com and, for offline tills, as a desktop application installed on your own hardware. Privacy questions go to privacy@posforretail.com.
What we collect
Account data
When you sign up we collect your name, email address, and business details (company name, business type, branches). This is what we use to create your workspace, bill you, and reach you about your account.
Business data you enter
Everything you put into the product to run your business: products and stock levels, sales and purchase documents, customer and supplier records, and — if you use the HRMS module — employee and payroll records. This data belongs to you. We host and process it only to provide the service.
Device and technical data
- Standard server logs: IP address, browser type, and the requests your session makes. We use these for security monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Desktop tills: activating the desktop app records a device identifier (a hardware fingerprint) so your license is bound to the machines you approved. It is used for license enforcement, nothing else.
Billing data
Subscription payments are handled by our payment provider. We keep your plan, billing history, and invoices; full card numbers never touch our servers. The same is true inside the product: the POS records which payment method a sale used — card processing happens on your own payment terminal.
Your customers’ and employees’ data
Records you keep about your customers, suppliers, and staff are yours: you are the data controller, and we process them on your behalf to run the service. We never sell this data, never use it for advertising, and never share it across accounts — every record is isolated to your company, enforced on every single query at the API layer.
How we use data
- To provide the service: run your terminals, sync your tills with the cloud, generate your reports.
- To keep your account secure: authentication, fraud and abuse detection, audit logging.
- To support you: when you contact support, we look at your account to help.
- To bill you and send service messages (receipts, renewal notices, security notices).
- To comply with law when we are legally required to.
We do not sell personal data. We do not run third-party advertising or ad trackers — not on this site, not in the product.
Where your data lives
Cloud data is stored in a managed database service, encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest, with automated backups. If you run offline tills, a local copy of your working data lives on that device so you can keep selling without internet; it syncs back to the cloud when connectivity returns. Securing the physical till device is your side of the deal — see Security for the full picture.
Cookies and sessions
This marketing site sets no tracking or analytics cookies. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page loads. The app itself uses short-lived session tokens stored on your device to keep you signed in — they exist to authenticate you, not to track you.
Retention and deletion
- Your data stays as long as your account is active.
- You can export everything (CSV, Excel) at any time — no lock-in.
- After cancellation we retain your data for 90 days so you can come back or finish exporting, then it is deleted from production systems.
- You can request earlier deletion at any time by emailing us.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Most of it you can manage directly in the app; for the rest, email privacy@posforretail.com and we will respond promptly. If you are in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (GDPR and similar), those rights apply and we honor them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top. For material changes we notify you in the app or by email before they take effect.
