Terms of service.

1. The agreement

By creating an account or using POSFORRETAIL — the web app at app.posforretail.com, the desktop till application, or this site — you agree to these terms. You are accepting them on behalf of the business you register, and you confirm you have the authority to do so.

2. Your account

• Keep your registration details accurate and your credentials confidential.
• You control who gets access: the product has role-based permissions per page and action, and you assign them. Actions taken by users you invite are your responsibility.
• Tell us promptly at support@posforretail.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Plans, trials, and billing

• Service is sold as a subscription — Starter, Professional, or Enterprise — billed monthly or yearly. Current pricing is on the pricing page.
• Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial, no credit card required. When the trial ends, you subscribe or the account is suspended — we don’t charge you silently.
• You can upgrade or downgrade at any time; changes take effect on your next billing cycle and differences are prorated.
• If payment fails we retry and notify you. Continued non-payment suspends the account; your data is retained per the privacy policy so you can settle up and resume.
• Prefer to own it? An on-premises lifetime license is available as a one-time purchase: the license never expires and product updates are free for life. Support beyond the included first 12 months is an optional add-on.

4. Desktop licensing and activation

The desktop till application activates per device with a cryptographically signed license bound to that machine. Your plan determines how many devices you can activate and how long a till may run offline before it must reconnect to validate. You agree not to tamper with, copy, or circumvent license activation or offline-grace enforcement.

5. Your data

• You own your data. Products, sales, customers, staff records — all of it.
• You grant us only the limited rights needed to host, process, back up, and sync that data to provide the service.
• You can export everything in standard formats (CSV, Excel) at any time.
• After cancellation, data is retained for 90 days for export or reactivation, then deleted.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the service for anything unlawful, or to store data you have no right to hold;
• probe, breach, or test the security of the service, or access another company’s data;
• reverse engineer the software or resell the service without a written agreement with us;
• abuse the API beyond your plan’s access level or in ways that degrade the service for others.

7. Availability

The POS terminal is offline-first by design: your till keeps selling during an internet outage and syncs when connectivity returns. Cloud services are operated to a high availability target, but the service is provided “as is” and “as available” — we may run scheduled maintenance, and we announce it in advance when it is disruptive.

8. Warranty and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and our total liability for any claim is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses — including losses caused by hardware you operate, third-party payment terminals, or data you deleted.

9. Termination

• You can cancel at any time; the subscription runs to the end of the paid period.
• We may suspend or terminate accounts that materially breach these terms — with notice and a chance to fix it, except where the breach threatens other customers or the service itself.
• Either way, the 90-day export window applies.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes are announced by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
